The Future Leaders Fellowship (formerly the Witherspoon Fellowship) is a two-day gathering for emerging young leaders in Brisbane, led by the Millis Institute Director Dr Ben Myers that aims to 'shape the leaders who will shape Australia...and the world'.
The goal is to form a fellowship of students looking for a different approach to leadership. Inspired by the stories of great leaders from throughout history, this program provides students in years 10 to 12 a grounding in the liberal arts that prepares them to engage pressing questions of our day. Through discussing works from Plato to Shakespeare to CS Lewis and Dr Martin Luther King Jnr, young leaders engage foundational truths about culture, faith and human flourishing, and apply those insights to contemporary issues.
During the gathering, attendees participate in formative (and fun) activities, including: discussion-based seminars focused on the great minds and great ideas of Western Civilisation; public-speaking and debate training; and ballroom dancing lessons. Using the foundation of the liberal arts up-and-coming young leaders from across Queensland join together in a time of formation and strategic leadership development that will bear fruit for many years to come.
The Future Leaders Fellowship advances the goals of the Millis institute, including the cultivation of a Christian worldview, a sense of calling, and critical thinking and communication skills that improve leadership.

What the students say...
"The thing I enjoyed most about the Fellowship was the new and
unique look at leadership.
I found it useful that it wasn't just a lecture on leadership but training for it."
